I've been a fan of Kill Hannah since around '99, and I have always felt they were doing something different and completely offbeat from what was popular. This still rings true, and I think this is the basis of their appeal-- at least for me. As an 11 or 12 year old with an aunt living in their home town of Chicago, I had her hunt high and low for American Jet Set and eagerly awaited its special delivery. It did not disappoint me. I was in love. And still, at almost 22 years old, I am highly anticipating their newest release. Their last full-length, Until There's Nothing Left Of Us, proved that they were finally on their way to becoming the band I always knew they could be. Now with their new song, "Strobe Lights", and a remake of an old favorite of mine, "New York City Speed", I strongly feel that they have made the last step in becoming the brilliant band they have kept secret all these years. As a fan, it has been such an incredible journey watching these guys change from one album to the next and I am about bursting at the seams with excitement for new tunes. So, check out Kill Hannah, love it or hate it, listen with an open mind and I can guarantee that they are one hundred times more original than the latest neon, auto-tune band that requested to be your Myspace friend (and you quickly accepted).Fun fact: Kill Hannah was one of the first bands I ever took live shots of, about 7 years ago with one of my first film cameras. I can't promise those will ever make it to the internet, but my images from Warped Tour in Hartford, CT and Camden, NJ will pop up around here in a week or two.
